Amy Smart is a former American actor and model. Her modelling career began in Italy, where she was raised and born in California. The beginning of her acting career came in 1996, when she was a character in the TV film Her Costly Affair. The actress struggled for an appearance for her in Starship Troopers. This was not easy for Amy as she had transition from modelling to acting. Models aren't regarded as the best actors, so they usually be given smaller roles that aren't very important. Amy persevered, and she eventually landed larger parts in the movies Varsity Blues and The 70s. In 2005, Amy took on the lead role in the romantic comedy Just Friends with Ryan Reynolds. Amy was finally recognized by the industry for her performance throughout the previous decade. The actress continued to appear in important films like Crank with Jason Statham or Shameless in which she was a beloved as a recurring role.
