Dolly-Parton
Dolly Parton, who was born in Locust Ridge Tenn. on Jan. 19. 1946, into a poor family with 12 kids at one point, realized that she could get away from her hardships through a creative mind. Even before learning to write or read and compose her own songs. In the year she turned 8, she got the first electric guitar she owned and began singing on an Knoxville Tenn Radio Station. That same the year that Gold Band Records was a tiny independent record label. While she was popular in the local scene while she was at High School, she knew her goals were greater. She moved to Nashville shortly after her graduation in 1964. Dumb Blonde (1967) and Something Fishy (1968) were the first two albums to chart for Monument Records. Porter Wagoner, a syndicated TV show host in the late '60s, was looking for a girl to sing for his show. Parton took the job in 1966, was signed to RCA Records in 1968, and then the Grand Ole Opry was founded in the year 1969. She quit Wagoner's act in 1974, when her solo hits like Joshua Coat of Many Colors and Jolene oversold her collaborations. After their split, Parton wrote the song I Will Always Love You for Wagoner and it debuted at Number. In 1974, Parton's song"I Will Never Love You reached No.
